Health in Hull is about to shift into focus alongside the 2012 London Olympic Games, more sporting opportunities will arise and health studies will hopefully improve.

In Hull alone 42 per cent of men and 33 per cent of women are defined as overweight (source: Hull Social Capital survey 2009).

The country is aiming to improve statistics such as these by promoting the benefits of improved health, also One Hull will be staging sports activities throughout the city with the city’s teams Hull City AFC, Hull KR and Hull FC.

The city is aiming to take advantage of the 2012 games to ensure a legacy and is hoping to inspire people to join in with sporting activity.

This page will be regularly updated with new information on plans and activities that will be taking place in the city.
